Craig Berg was hypothermic but alert when located on Isle Royale by Michigan police and officials during solo hike
A 70-year-old hiker who had been missing for a week on a Michigan island was rescued on Saturday, according to the US Coast Guard.
Craig Berg was located on Isle Royale with the help of backpackers, Michigan state police troopers and local officials. Even though Berg was found injured and hypothermic, he is “alive and alert”, according to a statement posted to the Isle Royale national park’s Facebook page.

La saison 2026 du Baseball I.D de Rimouski a pris fin dimanche après-midi à la maison quand le Laurier de Victoriaville est venu gagner les deux matchs pour enlever la série demi-finale 3 de 5 de la Ligue de baseball junior AA de la région de Québec par trois victoires contre une.
Dans la première partie du programme double, le Laurier a eu le meilleur par 6-2 face au lanceur gaucher Félix-Antoine Beaudet, frappé pour dix coups sûrs et six points, dont cinq mérités, en sept manches de travail. Jakob Tremblay et Alexandre Bérubé ont frappé chacun deux fois en lieu sûr dans la défaite.
Dans la seconde, les visiteurs ont eu le meilleur par 5-3. Ils ont su résister à une menace en 7e manche, la partie prenant fin avec deux coureurs en position de marquer.
« On est passé très proche. On était à un coup sûr d’égaliser le pointage. On avait une chance de continuer et j’avais encore des bras sur le monticule », a commenté Dominic Sirois, fier de son équipe.
Gabriel Lévesque encaisse le revers. Il a accordé six coups sûrs et quatre points, dont un seul mérité, en cinq manches. Anthony Côté a deux des cinq coups sûrs de son équipe.
Sirois en était à une troisième saison à la barre du Baseball I.D. Il confirme qu’il sera de retour l’an prochain. Ce ne sera toutefois pas le cas de son adjoint, Martin Lévesque.
« C’est notre meilleure saison depuis que je suis là. On a fini avec une fiche de 14-8, un des meilleurs rendements de l’équipe depuis plusieurs années. On a terminé quatrième officiellement dans le classement général de la Ligue, puis perdu en demi-finale contre les premiers de la Ligue en plus. On n’a pas à être déçu, on a eu vraiment une belle saison et une belle progression cette année. Il n’y a que deux joueurs qui nous quittent en raison de l’âge. Sinon, les 14 autres sont éligibles à revenir. Et, il y a une couple de joueurs midget qui s’en viennent », mentionne le gérant.
Fait particulier: joueurs et instructeurs du Laurier ont fait le voyage à Rimouski par avion, dimanche avant-midi !
Une passe de touché tardive signée Josh Allen offre la victoire à Buffalo pour commencer la saison.
Les accidents ont eu lieu à Saint-Charles-sur-le-Richelieu et à Saint-Rémi.

American’s hopes dashed in tense final
For a passing moment at the end of a rugged third set, hope sprung anew for Ben Shelton. He had been outserved and outplayed for nearly three hours, but at 6-5 in the third set, one game from defeat, the American finally broke through. He burst into the return game finally pounding his forehand freely and he willed himself into an unexpected fourth set.
After he had finished pumping his fist, cupping his ear to the crowd and admirably trying to initiate a drastic momentum shift, the next sequence was most revealing. Shelton opened the fourth set with a shaky game, immediately losing his serve at the start of the set. He worked hard until the end, but he was beaten by Zverev, the top seed, who closed out a 6-3, 7-6 (2), 5-7, 6-2 victory to lift his second grand slam title of the year.

Les Pionniers du Cégep de Rimouski ont joué un très fort match dimanche à La Pocatière en prenant la mesure des Gaulois par la marque de 42-32.
Habilement dirigée par le quart-arrière Roméo Michel, l’offensive des Pionniers s’est imposée du début à la fin. Michel y est allé d’une performance de cinq passes de touché. Samuel Normand a trois majeurs dans la rencontre, les autres allant à Zachary Leblanc, avec deux, et Maxime Tardif.
Les Gaulois étaient en avance 21-17 à la demie avant de voir les Pionniers exploser pour 28 points dans les trente dernières minutes de jeu.
« Après notre partie de la semaine passée, on voulait rebondir. On a fait ça de belle manière. Samuel Normand a vraiment eu une bonne partie. Roméo aussi nous a donné un solide match avec ses cinq passes de touché et aucune interception contre lui. En défensive, il y a Thomas Dominique qui a une interception puis Philippe Dufour aussi, lui qui a connu vraiment un fort match avec plusieurs plaqués en plus de son interception », a commenté Louis-David Goulet.
C’est en congé en fin de semaine prochaine pour les équipes de la section Nord-Est. Les Pionniers seront les visiteurs à Thetford le samedi 26 septembre à 13 h avec comme enjeu la deuxième position au classement. Les deux équipes présentent un dossier de 2-1, derrière Jonquière qui a une fiche de 3-0.
