Federal prosecutors charged a man returning to the United States with obstruction because he gave them a passcode that erased his smartphone during a customs search.

A U.S. citizen used an open-source operating system, GrapheneOS, on his Google Pixel phone to “delete the digital contents,” before the device was seized, an indictment against the man said.
