Former NFL star Antonio Brown to avoid possibility of 30 years in prison with plea deal

Former NFL star Antonio Brown plans to accept a plea deal on an attempted murder charge in Miami, his lawyer said Wednesday. Doing so will mean the former wide receiver avoids prison.

Brown is scheduled to appear in court next Wednesday to make the deal final. He could face up to 30 years in prison if convicted of the current attempted murder charge.

‘We hope he’ll accept’: US invites Putin to G20 summit at Trump golf club

Kremlin yet to respond publicly to US invitation that is likely to raise concerns from Ukraine and EU countries

The United States has invited Vladimir Putin to take part in the meeting of the G20 scheduled in Miami in December in what would be the first major summit with the Russian leader present since he launched his invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

The invitation, which marks a significant reversal by the Trump administration of Russia’s international isolation, was announced by Marco Rubio, the US secretary of state, during a press conference on the sidelines of the United Nations conference in New York.

‘He was well loved’: families mourn victims of Amazon cargo plane crash in Miami

Questions remain over tragedy that killed five as families file wrongful death lawsuits against Amazon and cargo firm

Among Junior and Jachel Pineda’s most treasured photographs of their father, Julio, one of five men killed in the Amazon cargo plane crash in Miami earlier this month, is one of him wearing his favorite red apron. Embroidered on the front are the words Chef Mago – the “wizard chef” in English – and Julio is clutching a ladle and tending to a pot on the stovetop.

The kitchen was one of the 75-year-old Cuban immigrant’s happy places, where he would cook for his family, his friends and his neighbors in the Hialeah community where he lived. He would feed and entertain them even after an exhausting shift for the aircraft cleaning company he was employed by.
