« C’est un peu comme ce qu’on avait anticipé après le camp d’entrainement. On a une équipe avec du talent, avec du potentiel. Ça ne demeure pas moins qu’on est extrêmement jeune. J’ai trouvé qu’aujourd’hui qu’on avait beaucoup moins d’énergie, mais il y a des gars qui ont marqué des buts au bon moment, puis Morgan (Blackwood), un peu comme hier, a fait de bons arrêts en période. C’est le fun pour notre groupe de jeunes de commencer avec deux victoires. On va avoir une belle semaine à la maison pour se préparer pour le premier match local », a commenté Joël Perrault.
Il avait de bons mots pour sa « recrue » de 20 ans, Schaaf. « Il a marqué sur ses deux premiers buts ce soir. C’est un gars qui nous amène une belle maturité, et beaucoup d’expérience. Ce n’est pas parce qu’il n’a pas joué dans notre ligue qu’il n’a pas d’expérience. »

« Ce soir, malheureusement, on a perdu un défenseur tôt dans la partie en Luca Nappiot. Les cinq autres défenseurs ont fait tout un travail. Sturgeon joue du très gros hockey, Beaulieu même chose. Les cinq ont été très bons. Un jeune comme Julien Nadeau, honnêtement, a démontré de très belles choses, », poursuit l’entraineur-chef.
