About 20,000 people were ordered to evacuate over the weekend from the Bald Range fire. Weather conditions were not expected to provide much relief on Monday.
Soaring temperatures in parts of France, Spain and Portugal could combine with dry conditions and strong winds to worsen the wildfire threat. It is the fourth heat wave to affect Europe since May.
