The only fraternal organization for women special operations veterans held a gala to mark the wars that began 25 years ago. It came as the Pentagon questions women’s roles in the military.
Active duty and retired armed forces members and their families and communities gathered at the Bowery Hotel on Thursday evening to honor and celebrate women in special operations at a gala in New York City.
Gen. Christopher T. Donahue greeted service members before the 2023 renaming of Fort Bragg in North Carolina. The general had extensive combat experience and strong support in the Army.
The move came days after the resignation of Daniel P. Driscoll, who had clashed with Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over the purge of top generals in the Army.
