Drone strike hits EuroChem’s Belorechensk fertilizer plant in southern Russia overnight
Astra reports that a Ukrainian drone strike targeted a chemical facility in southern Russia’s Krasnodar Krai overnight on 25 September 2025, setting off a fire and triggering mass evacuations. Telegram channels published videos and geolocation evidence identifying the struck site as the EuroChem-Belorechenskie Minudobreniya fertilizer plant in Belorechensk.
Drone strike confirmed in Krasnodar Krai
At 03:41 on 25 September, Russian Telegram channel Astra reported explosions in Belorechensk. Ukrainian Telegram channels Exilenova+ and Supernova+ released night-time footage of a distant explosion, stating it was filmed in the town.
Exilenova+ also asserted that the target was EuroChem-Belorechenskie Minudobreniya. Supernova+ added geolocation data to the available footage, identifying the filming point at 44.731112, 39.777857 and the nearby plant location at 44.757205, 39.768142. Later photos confirmed a fire at the factory.
Sochi Airport, located in the same region, temporarily closed last night, which indirectly confirms the drone attack.
Fire and evacuation confirmed
Later in the morning, Astra reported that road traffic had been blocked near the chemical plant in Belorechensk. Residents said that Ukrainian drones had attacked the site during the night.
The Operational Headquarters of Krasnodar Krai confirmed that allegedly “debris” of Ukrainian drones had landed near “one of the major enterprises of the municipality,” sparking a fire. Officials did not name the specific plant but stated that a fire covering only around 50 square meters had been extinguished.
They added that approximately 140 employees were evacuated into protective shelters. No casualties were reported, and emergency and special services continued working at the site.
