Ms. Pillay, a human rights lawyer, was drawn into the international spotlight last year as chair of a commission that found that Israel had committed genocide in Gaza.
Navi Pillay received the news that she had been awarded the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize on Friday while atttending an annual conference of human rights lawyers and judges in Nuremberg, Germany.
