Ronald L. Fischer vanished just before he was convicted. After more than 20 years on the run, he was arrested on a sailboat in the East River, the authorities said.

A pilot, who was treated for possible rabies exposure, sued Marriott International, claiming his Denver hotel failed to offer him a new room after he woke up to a swarm of bats last year.
