In the temporarily occupied town of Oleshky in the Kherson region, the situation is critical and has effectively reached the brink of a humanitarian catastrophe. At the same time, Ukraine is practically in the home stretch of evacuating citizens who need to be evacuated.

Another 11 Ukrainian citizens have returned to territory controlled by the Ukrainian government.

As of mid-2026, Ukraine’s population stood at 28.5 million people.

In the Donetsk region, the zone of mandatory evacuation for families with children has been expanded, and now covers all settlements in the Kramatorsk and Sloviansk communities.
