Ken Paxton celebrated New Year’s Eve in 2024 with two men wanted on federal charges, one of whom donated at least $190,000 to his campaigns. The extent of his ties to the men was unclear.

The businessman denied accusations made by María Corina Machado in a wide-ranging interview, in which she promised to return to Venezuela “sooner than you would expect.’‘
