The famed mountaineer Nirmal Purja was among those killed on Broad Peak. Five of the climbers’ bodies have been located but not yet recovered, an official said.
Rescuers were searching for missing bodies from the accident in one of the country’s mining hubs, where methane gas explosions and mine collapses are frequent.
