Her parents were collaborating artists during the pageant’s inaugural season in 2016, and her father, Sébastien Labelle, continues to work with the creative team, most recently as puppet ensemble co-lead. “What’s become more important to me, beyond the amazing creative work that I get to do with this community, is how my kids get to grow up with it,” says Labelle. “This amazing experience to work out in a natural environment, but really learning to think creatively and collaboratively in a way that we rarely have opportunities to do.
