Care Between the Lines is a summer series, which will introduce you to volunteers in health care who fill gaps and provide compassion in a system that can be isolating and scary.

Christine Pisapia, 62 gave her brother, Serge Pisapia, 70, a kidney in 2014. Now, they volunteer together for the Kidney Transplant Ambassador Program, which recently expanded to Quebec at the Montreal General Hospital.

The Ontario Superior Court of Justice must consider findings from a parliamentary committee that advised that medical assistance in dying be disallowed for patients whose sole medical condition is mental illness, a lawyer for the federal Attorney-General said Tuesday.
