CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. (06/25/26) – A behind-the-scenes tour of the restoration of Province House in Charlottetown on June 25, 2026. The National Historic Site, where the 1864 meetings that led to Canadian Confederation took place, has been under restoration for more than a decade and is expected to reopen to the public in fall 2026. Parks Canada is overseeing the $138-million project, whose cost has risen because of structural challenges and pandemic disruptions. Photo by Vanessa Tignanelli/The Globe & Mail
