“This was possible,” Ghazala Hashmi said in her victory speech on Tuesday, “because of the depth and breadth of the opportunities made available in this country and in this commonwealth.”
The Republican candidate for governor, Winsome Earle-Sears, who is the current lieutenant governor, had to leave the campaign trail to preside over the State Senate.
