Federal Transport Minister Steven MacKinnon held a news conference in Delta, B.C., on Thursday to tout the Port of Vancouver expansion project that has been referred to the major project office for potential fast-tracking, despite years of opposition from environmental groups.

Prime Minister Mark Carney says Ottawa will spend nearly $2-billion over four years to expand the Canadian Armed Forces' fleet of light armoured vehicles by 190 vehicles. London-based General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada will build the vehicles.
